3 Steps to Maximizing the Upcoming Recruiting Season

It’s a sad time of year for me to think of summer as almost being over. Along with the passing of summer goes the pool volleyball, barbequing outside, listening to outdoor bands in the cool night air, and all the other fun summertime activities we love.

But, it is an exciting time for our business because the fall months are one of the best times of the year to work hard to build your business and to see a lot of results. The kids are back in school, vacations are over and society in general is now more focued on being productive and ‘taking care of business’. Hooray for us because that means opportunity!

Between now and typically November you could double the size of your check… imagine that! However, just because the opportunity is there, it’s not going to happen by itself. You have to keep your nose down and go to work.

Here are three things you should do now to get yourself in full gear and to maximize the next few months:

  1. Revisit Your ‘Why’ – Don’t just start going through the motions of building the business because you feel like you should. You’re likely not to get anywhere. You have to have passion for this business and if you don’t then nobody is going to want to join you. Get excited about why you’re building the business and what it’s going to do for you. You know that you can and will do it! Write it down and look at it and least in the mornings and when you get home from work and again before you go to bed. There is power in the because the difference in where you are and where you see yourself is the motivation that is going to drive you.
  2. Up Your Skills – It’s time for some improvement. There’s a lot of skills needed to reach your full potential in network marketing and MLM such as people skills, marketing skills, copywriting skills, personal development. You must constantly commit to being and becoming your best. Start listening to the training CD’s you have and order some new ones. Just being around the successful people who do the trainings will have an effect on your mindset and equip you to grow those attracting more successful and attractive people to your business.
  3. Set Goals – Set a goal for how much you want to increase your monthly check between now and the end of the year. Also set a goal for how much ‘get-paid-today’ GPT money you want to make from sign-up bonuses and retailing. Money is the scorecard. As you reach your money goals you will automatically have to grow your business by enrolling new business partners and clients.

Your First Year in Network Marketing – Mark Yarnell

If you want to read one of the best books about network marketing that you can, then get this book! This book has made a powerful impact on me and my business. I believe it was the first book I read that had some philosophies which challenged the traditional way of building a business and opened my eyes to the truth of what it really takes and how to go about building.

Mark Yarnell is a legend in our industry and not just because of all his accomplishments and the millions of dollars he has made in network marketing but because of the truths he teaches which have helped others to reach new heights. Never does Mark sugar coat the truth about what it takes to truly be successful and build a large income. This book is no exception.

Ever since I first picked up a copy of this book it has been one of my very favorites, if not my very favorite on the subject of network marketing. What’s I love about this book is that he shows you how to stay with it, to avoid all the pitfalls, so that you can keep going on the right track long enough to see your own success. Says Mark, “The fascinating thing about network marketing is that, in many instances, survival – i.e., – staying in existence after others leave the business – is precisely what leads to dramatic wealth.”

Mark breaks down the nuts and bolts of what it actually takes to succeed, better then anybody else I know. From avoiding avoiding depression over the business, to working with your team, and the best way to identify good people… this book has it all. I truly believe it is a must have for your library if you’re serious about your business.

Building a List Is Vital to Your Success

I’m so amazed at the way most people go about working their business. They generate a lead, call them up (maybe), and then they either sign them up or they don’t but if they don’t they never communicate with the person again. Dumb! Timing is such a critical factor in when a person decides to get started. Just because a person didn’t get started today doesn’t mean they won’t next month. But what have you done in the meantime to stay connected to them, to brand yourself as a leader (attractive), and offer real value to them?

I get so frustrated by people who generate all these leads but never have anybody to talk to. How about putting everybody who has ever expressed an interest in your business in an autoresponder like Aweber and let them know what’s going on. Share tips, inspiring thoughts, let them know if you got promoted to a new level in the company… things like these. You get the picture. You will be surprised how many people will start chasing you down to sign-up when they get ready because of the relationship you have built with them and the real value you added to their life.

Funded Proposal Systems Work Best

I’ve recently become very interested in the idea of having a Funded Proposal System in place when building your network marketing business. It took me a long time to wrap my mind around it because quite frankly it’s so radically different then what we’re taught in trainings with our companies. They tell us to ‘market them’ in a sense by leading with letting people know what a great company it is. But truth be told… the company is NEVER the reason people join. They only join if they know you, like you, and trust you. They join YOU and not a company. They join you because of the relationship you have with them… maybe that was established in a short period of time or perhaps from a relationship that has been developing over years. They have come to see you as a leader who can help them to be successful. That’s what everybody wants. What better way to do that then by training. Showing them that you have something valuable to offer puts you at the top of the list in their mind.

This is why I so strongly believe in a funded proposal system because it does all of this for you so you look good to your new friend and you’re also generating a new stream of income that you can use to put back into your business for even more advertising to help you grow faster.

The first book I read on this subject was Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard. Mike is an absolute genius and I highly recommend you buy everything he has. Along with just reading the book, Magnetic Sponsoring is a funded proposal system.

The only issue I have with Mike Dillard’s system (not the book, the book is great) is that it doesn’t do enough to brand you as a leader. The system I use and recommend is the MLM Lead System Pro as it’s all online, works great for social media, helps you to build up a list (that’s a big deal), and it positions you as the leader… oh yeah and you can make thousands of extra dollars a month with it too.
